Based out of their studio in Ulverston, south Cumbria, Oubas combine timeless design and sustainable provenance in their range of knitwear, with a range of colourways inspired by the Lake District’s varying landscapes.
All their clothing and accessories are made-to-order or produced in very small batches, representing a production model that is far more resilient and regenerative than most large fashion brands. Oubas uses UK-sourced wool and majority British yarn from suppliers with trusted environmental and ethical credentials.
Oubas’ production process combines heritage with modern knitting technology, including Stoll CAD knitting machinery, traditional linking machines, and specialist hand techniques for the finishing touches. By resurrecting these traditional skills and focusing on local suppliers and craftspeople, Oubas has helped support employment in the Cumbrian area since their founding in 2012, giving back to our local communities.
